Downed Power Line Near At Scene Of House Fire

A blaze damaged at home in Bristol Township, the second house fire of the day.

Firefighters were called to the home on the corner of Glenrose Avenue and Malinda Drive around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and fought the flames.

In addition to the fire, crews found a downed power line between two poles in a neighboring backyard.

No residents were home at the time.

Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the fire happened shortly after lights in their homes lit up extremely bright and then went dim.

The fire marshal said electrical issues were to blame for the fire.

Power to several nearby homes was shutoff so PECO crews could make repair to the downed line, Dippolito said.

Firefighters from the American Hose Hook and Ladder Company, Croydon, Edgely, and Newportville fire companies responded to the scene along with the Bucks County Rescue Squad.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the homeowners.

Earlier on Wednesday, crews battled a kitchen fire along New Falls Road. The home was damaged and no injuries were reported.
