Kitchen Badly Damaged After Wednesday Fire


A fire badly damaged a home’s kitchen in Bristol Township.

Crews were called to the home in the 2800 block of New Falls Road shortly before 9 a.m. for a kitchen fire.

Trucks from the Newport, Newportville, and Levittown No. 2 fire companies were called to the scene and put out the flames.

Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the kitchen was badly damaged and the rest of the dwelling suffered heat and smoke damage.

The blaze was determined to have started in the kitchen near an appliance, Dippolito said.

Two residents were asleep at the home when the fire broke out. Smoke alarms were going off in the home when firefighters arrived, the fire marshal said.

There were no injuries to responders or residents.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family with basic needs until their insurance coverage takes over with assistance.
