In December, the Zoning Hearing Board approved the plansย and granted a use variance for the proposed facility.

The original plans, as stated by businessman Nicholas Lostracco, were to include a multi-lane shooting range in a long-vacant 6,900-square-foot retail store next to Tonyโ€™s Old Fashion Meat Store in the Newport Plaza Shopping Center in the 4500 block of New Falls Road.

Lostracco, who is a co-owner of the shopping center, told zoners the spot has been vacant for years and competition between area shopping centers has made it hard to find a tenant, despite many attempts.
