UPDATED: Police ID Pedestrian Killed On Route 13

UPDATED: 7:42 p.m., Friday: 

Bristol Borough police said Hilbrand Wesselius, 46, of Levittown, was the man killed after being struck by a vehicle at Route 13 and Beaver Street Friday around 5:39 a.m.

Wesselius was crossing Route 13 north of the intersection and outside of the crosswalk when he was struck by a 29-year-old Bristol Borough man who had just driven through the green light, police said.

A man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Bristol Borough.

The call of a struck pedestrian at Route 13 and Beaver Street came into police at 5:39 a.m. Friday.

Police Chief Steve Henry said the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. He added the striking vehicle remained on the scene.

Investigators were continuing to probe the crash and were working to notify the man’s family.

In May 2017, Donna Anderson, 50, of Bristol Township, was struck in the same area by a dark-colored vehicle, possible a 2004 to 2009 Nissan Quest minivan. The driver fled after striking the woman who was crossing the street. Police said the striking vehicle was in the southbound lanes and turned west onto Bath Road.

Just under a year ago, 52-year-old borough resident Kevin Williams  was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver not far away at Route 13 and Corson Street. The suspect in that crime is believed to have fled the country.

In June, a 39-year-old Bristol Borough man was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a 67-year-old Bristol Township woman not too far from the scene.
