An area brewery has gained plenty of attention over the past day after introducing their newest beer.

Bristol Township’s Broken Goblet Brewing took inspiration from the Philadelphia Flyers’ new mascot Gritty to come up with their latest beer called “Nightmare Fuel.”

The new brew will be introduced Saturday, October 13. The brewers described it this way: “Aย lightly hopped Cream Ale brewed with vanilla and ‘bruised and bloodied’ oranges. Resin and pine from the Chinook addition, and a touch of Saaz hops accent the sweetness of the vanilla and the tart orange in this fluffy ale.”

Gritty made his first appearance Monday to mixed reviews, including a number of comparisons to the nightmares he might cause young Flyers fans. By Tuesday night, Gritty received not just local attention but was featured in the Toronto Star, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and a number of national sports outlets.

By midday Tuesday, Broken Goblet had announced their Gritty-themed beer and already had a poster mocked up by graphic artist Mark Salmon.

“Take me to beer,” one person posted.
