A state grant will go toward improvements and construction at a wastewater treatment facility that serves a portion of Falls Township.
The $1 million from the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will go toward the costs of design, bidding and construction of a pump station and infrastructure conveyance system, including installation of a 30-inch force main, a 42-inch gravity main, and road restoration, for the Morrisville Municipal Authority.

“This grant helps to address very serious infrastructure needs of our participating communities,” Morrisville Municipal Authority Executive Director John Warenda said. “Thanks to the state’s support, the Morrisville Municipal Authority will turn a vacant brownfield into a greenfield.”
The Morrisville Municipal Authority serves about 40,000 customers in portions of Falls Township and Lower Makefield and all of Morrisville and Yardley.
The upgrades will support 100 skilled trades jobs during the project and keep approximately 15 licensed treatment operators employed once finished, Morrisville Municipal Authority said.

Warenda thanked state representatives Perry Warren of Yardley and John Galloway of Falls Township and Gov. Tom Wolf for their help in getting the grant money.
“The plant upgrades will help protect natural resources and save ratepayer money,” said Warren. “It’s a prime example of the critical role that infrastructure plays in advancing public health, and improving it will positively affect thousands of people here in our communities.”
