The school tax rate will be staying flat in Bristol Borough.

Late last month, the school board approved a $24,101,701 million spending plan that will keep taxes at their previous levels, which comes to 154 mills or about $2,500 annually for the average property owner.

The school board was able to hold the line on taxes despite rising costs, including pension obligations and employee costs.

District Business Manager Chris McHugh said the budget has a $135,900 deficit for several capital projects, including repairing the high school parking lot and upgrades to the high school bathrooms and cafeteria. The funds will come from the district fund balance.
