PennDOT announced that the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority will keep northbound Route 13 closed between Haines Road and the Levittown Town Center through Friday as water main repairs take place.

Detoured drivers will be directed to use Haines Road, Mill Creek Parkway and Levittown Parkway. Local access to the area will be maintained, officials said.

Crews from the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority were working late Wednesday morning to repair the water main break that took place along Route 13 in Bristol Township.

A backhoe and excavator were being used to dig toward the main break, which occurred just past Haines Road outside the McDonald’s and the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority treatment facility.
A representative from the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority did not immediately release information on how many customers were impacted. However, the McDonald’s at the site of the water main break was closed and nearby residents reported low water pressure.

Northbound Route 13 was closed as of 11:30 a.m. between Haines Road and the Levittown Town Center in Tullytown. Despite the road closed signs and cones, several drivers ignored them and drove through the closed area.

Traffic was backed up along Route 13 between Edgely Road in Bristol Township and Levittown Parkway in Tullytown Borough. PennDOT reported the issue was caused by a water main break.
The northbound lanes of Route 13 between Haines Road and Levittown Parkway were blocked as of 8:15 a.m.
