Two handguns and marijuana were found at a Levittown high school Friday evening after two teenagers attempted to bypass security during a football game.

The incident happened at Harry S. Truman High School during a home game on the Bristol Township campus.
As of Sunday, the case remains under investigation, according to Bristol Township Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Jason Mancuso.
In a letter sent to parents Saturday, Superintendent Michael Nitti stated that two high-school-aged juveniles — one enrolled as a Truman student and the other not — first tried to bring two backpacks to the game.

Security personnel turned both juveniles away at the entry gates, Nitti reported.
The Bristol Township School District has a policy prohibiting backpacks at home football games.

“The juveniles then evidently attempted to conceal their backpacks on school grounds and entered the event,” Nitti wrote.
School officials located the hidden bags and conducted a search, discovering two firearms and a quantity of marijuana inside.
Staff secured the weapons and alerted law enforcement.
The juveniles were identified and taken into police custody, Nitti said.

“No firearms were discharged, no threats were reported, and no injuries were reported during the incident,” Nitti said.
The Bristol Township School District is coordinating with law enforcement as the investigation moves forward.

“We are grateful for the vigilance of our administrative team in identifying and safely addressing this situation, as well as for the support and cooperation of the Bristol Township Police Department in helping to keep our school community safe,” Nitti wrote.
On Friday, the Truman Tigers played the Springfield Township Spartans and won the game 22-20.
