A Bensalem man was arrested Thursday evening following a police chase in Levittown.
Bristol Township police Officer John Rink pulled over a 2004 Ford van on Millcreek Road just past Edgely Road around 5:30 p.m. after he spotted the vehicle driving on the shoulder near Orangewood Drive. The F-350 – operated by Robert Louis Lord Jr., 40 – sped off after Rink went to his patrol car during the traffic stop, according to court papers.

The officer began following Lord’s vehicle and radioed his information to county dispatchers, who alerted that the 40-year-old man had a suspended license and was wanted, police said.
The chase traveled eastbound on Millcreek Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section before running a red signal at Levittown Parkway. Lord made a left onto the parkway and came to a stop behind a home in the 100 block of Willow Drive in Falls Township’s Levittown section, police said.
Lord got out of the F-350 and ran on foot before jumping a six-foot-tall fence, police said.

Falls Township police Lt. Hank Ward and Bristol Township police said a K-9 from Falls Township arrived with officers from both communities and tracked Lord to the home where he stopped the vehicle behind.
Residents near the scene told LevittownNow.com they saw numerous police officers and the K-9 unit searching the neighborhood before Lord’s arrest.
Police said they forced their way into a locked bathroom and found Lord in the shower area. He was hiding a syringe and had a duffel bag with baggies with suspected heroin, marijuana, and additional syringes.

The woman who told police she did not know Lord reportedly yelled at him as he was taken away by officers: “You see what you did! You got me arrested!”
