In 2017, Chef Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy Rubenyan started Dave’s Hot Chicken in a Los Angeles parking lot with $900, portable fryers, and folding tables.
The menu focuses on Nashville-style chicken tenders, sliders, and bites. Customers can choose from seven spice levels, ranging from “no spice” to “reaper.” Side dishes include house-made kale slaw, mac and cheese, and seasoned fries.
The brand quickly expanded from an East Hollywood brick-and-mortar shop to a global franchise after a 2019 deal involving movie producer John Davis and Bill Phelps, the co-founder and former CEO of Wetzel’s Pretzels.
