Although the recreational docks in Bristol Borough have only been open for a little over six months, the icy Delaware River has already left its mark on them.
One of the big concerns when officials were discussing the possibility of docks at the wharf was how the docks could stand up to the icy waters of the frozen river. The docks were supposed to be able to stand up to the icy possibilities of a Bristol winter.

In recent weeks, two of the docks were damaged by the icy river, said Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe II.
He explained that the contractors have been courteous and will replace the damage at no cost.
According to Amanda Fuller of Gilmore and Associates, there is no current estimate regarding the damage to the docks, but the manufacturer and designers are looking at the issue in hopes of preventing further damage in the future.

The docks can host around 20 boats at a time.
The $3 million project was funded through a variety sources, including the Grundy Foundation, federal and state grants and the Bucks County Open Space program.
