A number of enhancements and structural updates were approved at the Bristol Borough School District’s last school board meeting.
Thomas Shaffer, the superintendent of the district, announced a generous donation from the Grundy Foundation last Thursday evening. According to Shaffer, the foundation gifted $7,000 to the district. The money will be used to purchase 30 Chromebooks for the science curriculum, according to the district’s Business Manager Chris McHugh.

“Thank you so much, it was beautiful timing,” said Kelli Rosado, the district principal.
According to Rosado, while the curriculum had been updated at the beginning of the school year, the hardware to take full advantage of the curriculum was lacking.
In addition to receiving funding for hardware, the district announced a project to completely replace and update the district’s security camera system.

The renovations are part of capital improvements program. The update will allow collaboration between the district and the police department. The renovations include both the elementary school and the middle and high school, according to McHugh.
