Near perfect weather drew one of the largest crowds ever for the annual Olde Langhorne Harvest Day.

The festival that took over Maple Avenue in the heart of the borough celebrated its 11th year. The Langhorne Borough Business Association (LBBA) puts the festival on each year and each year, more and more have been added to make the day a constantly bigger celebration.

“A town and community that supports the event is key,” explained Ellyn Schoen, a member of the LBBA and a longtime organizer of harvest festival.

The event featured live music, a Halloween costume parade and many vendors.

“I just love seeing a neighborhood community come together for a fun day,” Schoen said. “It feels really good after it is all said and done.”

Saturday’s Harvest Day is the biggest that the event has ever been, according to LBBA president Rich Beaumont.

More than 100 vendors line the road as Langhorne residents and visitors to the town walk the streets. The LBBA puts on a few events each year, including the concerts in the summer, Harvest Day and a Christmas celebration including a tree lighting.

Although the events sometimes make money, putting the events on themselves is a big reward for putting in the work, Beaumont said.

The festival takes place on the last Saturday in October every year.
