The complete overhaul of a local favorite fast food restaurant is all but finished.
For fans of the original Burger King at the intersection of New Falls Road and Hood Boulevard in Falls Township, the reconstruction project is taking “forever” – although the original plan did explain the restaurant would be out of commission for three months.

Staff at the eatery said it should open around 4 p.m. Friday.
The new store is a completely different look from the prior building, with an efficient “dual kiosk” drive-through to handle an increased vehicle load and inside looks to have a brand new playground for the kids to work off their extra energy after eating their fries.
The roughly 30-year-old former Burger King was torn down earlier this year and replaced with the new 3,900-square-foot restaurant with a play area and all the latest bells and whistles.

On Thursday afternoon, finishing touches were being added to the parking lot and landscaping and the Falls Township Fire Marshal’s Office came by to check things out as well.
