A popular food stop for many along New Falls Road in Falls Township, as well as students from nearby Pennsbury High School, will be rebuilt soon.
At the Falls Township Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday evening, Family Dining Inc., the operator of the Burger King, received approval to tear down the old 3,200-square-foot restaurant and construct a newer and larger facility at the same location starting later this spring.

While the original plan for the new construction was for two buildings – an updated and larger 3,900-square-foot Burger King restaurant and a smaller 1,800-square-foot independent café location – Family Dining, Inc. has not yet found a suitable partner for the secondary tenant. As part of the approval from the township, the new site will begin a phased construction process in April, leaving the secondary building plans for later discussions once a tenant has been agreed upon by the parent company, according to a representative from Bohler Engineering.
The planned construction time for the new facility is 100 days, and when completed, the new Burger King will include an indoor play area for younger children as well as more seating for guests.
The current facility is about 30 years old.
