Late Wednesday morning while on patrol in Levittown, a Middletown officer observed a gold Toyota with heavy dark tint, the vehicle was also bearing an expired registration. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Oxford Valley Road near Roberts Avenue, the vehicle did not stop and instead began traveling at a high rate of speed, moving into oncoming traffic, passing through a steady red light, and forcing several vehicles to drive off the road.
The officer noted in court documents that he did not pursue the vehicle, with fear of safety concerns. He instead, traveled in the direction where the vehicle was last seen.
Once at the intersection of Oxford Valley and New Falls roads, the officer observed a vehicle that appeared to be struck and was off the road. A witness to the incident informed the officer that she observed a gold Toyota run the red light, strike the vehicle, then come to a rest in the Wawa parking lot. She said the driver, a tall black male, then fled towards Walgreens holding a bag, police said.

According to court documents, a witness to the situation at the Wawa told the officer that he saw the driver flee with a bag and jump a fence into Plumbridge. Bristol Township officers than communicated that a male fitting the description was seen throwing a large bag onto a roof and running through the section.
