Although he is new to having a brick and mortar location, Adriano Redante is well versed in the food industry.

Redante is the owner of BrazBQ, a new Brazillian barbeque and fusion restaurant at 417 State Street in Croydon. The restaurant opened in May, but Redante has operated his food truck for about five years.

The storefront opened in May in Bristol Township after Redante originally eyed a spot in Morrisville. Negotiations fell through in Morrisville and Redante ended up in Croydon. The change in plans isn’t all bad, though. The new location has everything Redante needs in a restaurant.

“It has everything I need, including and especially space for my trucks,” Redante explained.

There is ample space on the property for the popular food trucks to sit between parties and catered events.

“My food is totally different from everything else,” Redante said as he went over over the eclectic menu.

Although he brought tastes of his native Brazil with him when he moved to the United States in 2000, the menu features a totally unique and fusion style taste. From Redante’s signature burger using sliced steak instead of ground meat and the one of a kind “Philly Brew Bites,” a sort of croquette made using Neshaminy Creek Brewing’s beer, the whole menu is a testament to originality and creativity in the kitchen.

“So far, it seems like people like everything on the menu,” Redante explained.

Even though he has been open since May, the restaurant menu is still a work in progress. Redante is still toying with taking items off of or putting different items on the menu. Each day, there are different specials and offers going on in the store, Redante said.

Before opening his food truck, Redante worked in various restaurants in the New Hope and Peddler’s Village area, including the Cock and Bull.

“All of a sudden, I decided to open the food truck, and the rest is history,” Redante laughed.

“It’s basically everyone’s dream to have a set location,” Redante said, mentioning the help the location provides when it comes to logistics, food prep, storage and more.

Working in those restaurants and steakhouses allowed Redante to perfect his craft before opening a food truck. Now, in addition to his restaurant, he is still one of the regular food trucks at Neshaminy Creek Brewing.

“I really hope that the community will come and support us and try our food,” Redante said. “Really, that is what is most important.”
