1956 Bristol High School Grad Receives New Class Ring

Harold Mitchener can once again wear his Bristol Borough High School pride on his finger. The first time since he lost his Class of 1956 ring “many years back” back while working at a local meat shop.

The 78-year-old retired teacher was presented with a new class ring by the Bristol Borough School Board and Eugene Williams, executive director of The Grundy Foundation.

“In my time around town, I’ve yet to meet anyone more proud to be a lifelong Bristolian and proud member of the Bristol High School Class of 1956 than Harold Mitchener,” Williams said.

Mitchener was also recognized for his and his wife Carol’s volunteerism in the borough.

Since 1997, the Mitcheners have helped teach future generations about Bristol and the area’s history. The couple even have authored a book on local history.
