The Pennsbury School Board will consider approving a new contract with the Pennsbury Educational Support Professionals Association (PESPA).

The details and impact on taxpayers that the new tentative labor agreement with union will have will not be known to the public until two days before the Wednesday, June 28 meeting where the school board will vote.

The PESPA membership voted earlier this month to approve the tentative deal with the district. The new agreement would take effect on July 1 and expire on June 30, 2022, according to a press release.

The PESPA represents 625 district employees ranging from secretaries and paraprofessionals to bus drivers and custodians.

The current PESPA deal was approved in 2013 and retroactive starting in 2011. The contract cut health insurance for dependents of employees and was expected to save $9 million over its term.
