The crash outside outside Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township was fake, but the lesson was real.
Last week, Bristol Township police, ambulance squads from around the Levittown area along with the Edgely and Levittown No. 2 fire companies took part in the annual mock DUI crash staged to inform students about the dangers of driving while intoxicated.

Following the sobering lesson, a moving video documenting the drill was released ahead of Friday’s Truman prom.
Numerous students suffered “injuries” and others “died” in the crash. The student who played the intoxicated driver was taken “into custody” and arraigned before District Judge Joanne Kline.
Area hospitals, including St. Mary Medical Center, took part in the mock crash and received the “injured” students, even pronouncing at least one “deceased.”

The video of the drill was filmed and edited by Truman teacher Jim Cristea.
