The Centre for the Arts in Bristol Borough was bursting at the seams on Wednesday night as the gallery hosted “A Celebration of Bristol Borough,” where work featuring the riverfront town was on display.

Among the artists was Rose Marie Hibbs. Although she lives in Drexelwood in Falls Township now, she spent 55 years of her life in Bristol Borough and Bristol Township.

“It’s my home,” Hibbs reflected. “I was so excited to get here and see the crowd, knowing everyone feels the same way I do.”

Belonging to the Artists of Bristol, Hibbs has been drawing her entire life. She has had many showings in and around Bristol and has sold art at local venues, including the Centre for the Arts, as well.

Gail Bracegirdle is a Bensalem resident with a studio in the Canal Works building and has been doing watercolor painting since the early 1990’s. She has been in Bristol since 1999.

“I think Bristol is terrific, and watching the evolution of the town has been fantastic,” Bracegirdle said.

“This is a great showcase for all of the artists,” said Beth Voroscuk, who is a resident of the Borough who came out to enjoy the celebration of Bristol exhibit.
