The boy was struck around 3:10 p.m. in the Bel-Aire mobile home community on Old Bristol Pike in the Morrisville section of Falls, police said.
The driver of the striking pickup truck had to drive away from the scene after bystanders began attacking the vehicle. He drove a short distance away and contacted 9-1-1 to report the crash, police said.
Police cars escorted the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad ambulance with the boy to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
