Cops: Fight Over Cellphone Leads To Knife Attack

A Bristol Township woman is being charged with a number of assault-related offenses after allegedly threatening and attacking her boyfriend.

Maureen Tracy Caratura, 48, is accused of attacking her boyfriend with a knife after waking him up last Wednesday night in Croydon. According to police paperwork, Caratura and her boyfriend got into an argument over a lost cellphone. The man fell asleep on the couch and woke up to Caratura standing over him with a large kitchen knife.

Police allege that Caratura began slashing at her boyfriend, causing cuts on both of his arms.

According to court documents, Caratura said, “I’m going to kill you while you sleep.”

Caratura’s boyfriendย  was able to flee the home and police responded.

Caratura is being charged with the felony of aggravated assault, and multiple misdemeanors including simple assault and terroristic threats.

Caratura’s bail was set at 10 percent of $250,000.
