Township police detectives and the fire marshal’s office are investigating the cause of the blaze that happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The occupants of the house along with three dogs and an iguana all escaped the fire unhurt, Fire Marshal Dippolito said.

The residents were alerted to the fire when smoke detectors began to go off, Dippolito said.

Firefighters from several volunteer fire companies rushed to the scene and helped put down the flames.
