Cops: Man Discards Gun, Flees

A Bristol Township man was arrested and charged over the holiday weekend after he fled following a gun call.

Marcus Wooley, of the Croydon section of the township, was charged with possession of an instrument of crime, firearm not to be carried with a license, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Bristol Borough police said they were dispatched at 11:18 p.m. on Saturday to Race Street for a man – later identified as Wooley – with a handgun. Upon arriving at the scene, witnesses told officers what the armed man looked like.

A Bristol Township officer called in to assist spotted a man matching the witnesses description on Bath Street. Once Wooley spotted law enforcement he started to run, police said.

Borough and township officers chased Wooley before capturing him in the 700 block of Bath Street. A .45 caliber handgun suspected of being discarded by Wooley was found nearby, police said.

Wooley was arraigned and sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $150,000 bail. The amount was reduced to 10 percent of $5,000 bail on Wednesday.
