

A resident found possible explosives inside a Fairless Hills home Monday afternoon, which led to a call to the bomb squad, police said.

The discovery was made around 2:30 p.m. by a homeowner in the 300 block of Chelsea Road in Falls Township’s Fairless Hills section, police said.

After the find, the resident reported the suspicious materials to law enforcement.
“During the preliminary investigation we coordinated with the Philadelphia Police Bomb Disposal Unit who subsequently responded and seized the items,” said Lt. Chris Clark of the Falls Township Police Department.

Responders from the Falls Township Police Department, the Falls Township Fire Marshal’s Office, and city police secured the area.
Officials said that there is no threat to the safety of Fairless Hills residents.

Police personnel remain at the scene as an active investigation continues.
Chelsea Road remained open to traffic while officers conducted their work.
