An act of violence on the streets of Bristol was matched with a showing of love Friday evening.

More than 100 people gathered Friday to remember the life of 20-year-oldย Robert Colter III, who was gunned down outside his home this past Tuesday shortly before 8 p.m. The crowd gathered around 6 p.m. Friday and lit candles in memory of the young father. Stuffed bears and flowers were laid at the site of the shooting.

Colter was fatally wounded when gunshots came from a single or multiple suspects who fired upon him from the corner of Mifflin and Bath Streets, sources have told LevittownNow.com. The shooting was not a drive-by as reported by Philadelphia TV news.

Due to the fact the shooter(s) had not been captured by Friday, there was heavy police presence at the vigil. Officers from multiple towns closed down a portion of Bath Street and kept a close eye. One police official said there was some worry that there could be retaliation violence following the shooting.

Despite the fear, the vigil remain peaceful and the community mourned the loss of a young man who had a lot of life left ahead of him.
