A sandwich named after Levittown will be given away for free Friday at a local BBQ joint.

Restaurateur Drew Abruzzese will be giving away his newest creation, “The Levittowner,” Friday between noon and 2 p.m. at Big Q BBQ at the corner of Bristol-Oxford Valley and Woodbourne roads in Middletown’s Levittown section.

“The Levittowner” sandwich features sliced smoked brisket, cheese whiz and crispy onion straws tucked into an 8-inch Italian Peopleโ€™s Bakery torpedo roll.

“The sandwich went from introduction last Friday to being one of our best sellingย items in a few days. Weโ€™re humbled to have created something so beloved that we decided to give it away again as a way of saying thank you to the customers that have supported us over the past five months as well as providing the opportunity for more of our neighbors to try it,โ€ Abruzzese, who is head chef at the Pineville Tavern in Wrightstown, said.

The sandwich usually sells at the BBQ eatery that opened in summer for $6.49.
