Shortly after a ISIS supporter who may have been planning an attack was arrested in Harrisburg, Gov. Tom Wolf reminded residents to “remain vigilant, strong and focused on anyone here in the state who may seek to harm Pennsylvanians.”

“I commend the FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police, along with local law enforcement and other members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, for their efforts in apprehending this individual for his alleged efforts to aid ISIL. We understand that this individual is a U.S. citizen and his arrest is a reminder that we must remain vigilant, strong and focused on anyone here in the state who may seek to harm Pennsylvanians. I am proud of PSP’s ongoing efforts to protect Pennsylvania citizens. My administration is in constant communication with our law enforcement partners and will continue to assist in any way possible. ”

FBI agents and members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force raided an apartment in Harrisburg Thursday and arrested Jalil Ibn Ameer Aziz, 19, who is being held until his next court date.
Federal prosecutors said the Pennsylvania resident aided persons planning to travel to the Middle East and fight for ISIS. During an investigation last month, a tactical-style backpack containing high-capacity weapons magazines, ammunition, a knife, and other survival items was found in his closet.
The 19 year old reportedly had numerous social media accounts where he posted about ISIS and jihad. In one conversation online, Aziz talked of finding a 17 year old girl to buy and also advocated others to fund ISIS.

“Every day, thousands of law-abiding Muslims in Central Pennsylvania work, raise families, attend school, shop, travel and associate with their neighbors and communities peacefully, while at the same time observing their own religious beliefs and ethnic heritage.The acts and doctrines of violent and delusional terrorists must not become an excuse for hasty or emotional acts of hostility, bigotry or violence in our own society. Such actions only serve the interests of the terrorists and violent extremists – they are part of what they want to achieve,” U.S. Attorney Peter Smith said in a statement.
“These charges are a testament to the perseverance and dedication of those who stand watch over our nation and a clear message that those who support terrorism – will face justice.”
