Fire That Damaged House Under Investigation By Detectives, Fire Marshal

The Falls Township fire marshal and police detectives are investigating the cause of a blaze that damaged a home Thursday morning.

The home in the 200 block of Centre Street in Fairless Hills was reported around 7:30 a.m. Flames appeared to have started in the area of a heat pump and then extended into the attic of the house, according to Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito.

The residents and dogs living in the home were able to escape uninjured, the fire marshal said.

Dippolito told LevittownNow.com the cause of the fire was not yet determined and it remained under investigation.

About two hours after the fire, police remained at the scene, PECO workers milled about and a Red Cross SUV idled outside the home. Fire damage could be seen on the side of the house and on the roof.

Crews from the Falls Township, Fairless Hills, Levittown No. 1, Levittown No. 2 and William Penn fire companies responded to the scene. Medics from the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad also stood by at the scene.
