It’s been a challenging year for those who represent Bristol Township. First, they battled and spent thousands against the grand jury report and investigation into Township Manager Bill McCauley and the township’s police department in February and then the loss of the council president to natural causes in March. Since, the township’s Pro Team has seen the addition of a new member, Murray Bailey, prepared for the loss of once vice president Troy Brennan as he removes himself from council, battled with hundreds of residents over the proliferation of recovery homes and seen it’s Pro Team fall apart just a week before Election Day.
On May 19, Primary Day, three incumbents and two newbies battled for three open council seats. Today, residents choose from incumbent Joe Glasson of Levittown, incumbent Amber Longhitano of Croydon, incumbent Murray Bailey and newbie Patrick Antonello of Levittown. Newbie Gallus Obert was eliminated from the general after primary day election results.

Voters ended up choosing Glasson and Longhitano and Antonello as their picks for Bristol Township Council on Tuesday. The three were elected to serve four-year terms leading one of Pennsylvania’s biggest townships.
Glasson, who has been a member of the council’s Pro-Team since it’s inception over four years ago, removed himself from being associated with both Longhitano and Bailey after Bailey posted an article dictating some of history’s important Republicans. Glasson later voted against Longhitano’s motion Wednesday when she attempted to enact a moratorium against the township’s recovery homes.
In recent days, Glasson’s name was removed from various signs that supported Longhitano and Bailey.

Antonello has not been affiliated with the Pro Team during the general election cycle. He was backed by the Bristol Township Democrats.
