Police allege Andrew Thomas Messner, 29, formerly of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, hurt his girlfriend again. However, this time she passed away, and he is being charged with criminal homicide.
Messner, who was wanted on a Bucks County bench warrant, was taken into custody at the Berkeley Trace Apartments on Bensalem Boulevard. It’s the same place Bensalem police allege he killed 25-year-old Dilara Ozen Monday morning.

Ozen’s mother arrived to apartment 106 to find her daughter dead in the bathroom. She then called 9-1-1 to summon help, police said.
Officers located Messner at the apartment and took him in for questioning related to the death that police initially called “suspicious.”
While police were not immediately releasing details on what lead up to the death, Messner is accused of previously assaulting Ozen.

According to court records obtained by LevittownNow.com, Messner’s warrant was for skipping on trial for a charge of simple assault.

Lower Makefield police alleged that Messner assaulted Ozen on May 7 in the 1300 block of Polo Run Drive. Police said they found Ozen with red marks on her face, scratches on her body and blood stains on her shirt. The 25-year-old told them she had an argument with Messner that led to a physical fight which involved the then-Levittown resident choking her, striking her, jumping on her and throwing her to the ground.

He was initially jailed when the charges were filed but released when his bail was lowered from 10 percent of $25,000 to nonmonetary.
Messner is expected to be arraigned on the criminal homicide charge Monday night, police said.
Anyone with information on the homicide is asked to call police at 215-633-3719.
