If you’ve driven on southbound Route 1 between South Bellevue Avenue in Langhorne Manor and theย Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bensalem, you know the highway needs to be repaired.
PennDOT officials announced late last week that the four-mile portion of Route 1 will be repaired and resurfaced starting Tuesday. The contractor on the project will work from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. through mid-October to mill and pave the deteriorated southbound lanes.

Southbound Route 1 will be reduced to one lane during nighttime construction, according to PennDOT officials.

The $9,433,892-project is being carried out as part of the state’s Act 89 transportation funding bill.
Contractor H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is leading the work.
