The bomb threat that disrupted classes at Harry S. Truman High School and worried scores of parents was unfounded, police said Friday afternoon.
Acting Lt. Ralph Johnson said school security discovered words indicating a bomb threat written on the mirrors in both the boys and girls bathrooms around 8:20 a.m. School staff alerted police, who promptly responded to the Green Lane facility.

After sitting in lockdown for roughly an hour, students were eventually evacuated to the football stadium, where they stayed until about 12:30 p.m., according to police at the scene.
Police K-9s from Bristol Township, Lower Makefield and Middletown searched the building and found it to be clear of any threat, according to Johnson. Interim Superintendent Melanie Gehrens also confirmed to LevittownNow.com that the search found the building to be safe.
Students returned to the school and were provided an “abbreviated lunch period,” Gehrens said.

Lt. Terry Hughes said surveillance video from the areas around the bathrooms are being examined.
Detectives working with district staff will continue to investigate the false bomb threats, Johnson stated.

In May, Truman was evacuated and dismissed early in a similar incident. Johnson said the district attorney did not prosecute anyone in connection with that incident.
In a Facebook post, school district officials apologized for initially informing parents that students were evacuated when they had not yet left the school.
