Bristol Township has continued their efforts to become a fully staffed police department by adding another local man to their force during a Thursday night council meeting.
โI am very pleased to welcome Joshua Bausch to the Bristol Township Police Department,โ said Public Safety Director Robert Coulton.

Bausch, 23, who grew up in Langhorne and attended the Calvary Christian Academy, has a criminal justice degree and nearly a year experience as a corrections officer at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Bausch is expected to start with the department on October 2 and be trained within the patrol division.
According to officials of the department, Bausch was chosen from a group of 100 candidates that passed the Bucks County Consortium Test. He is expected to attend the Municipal Police Academy provided by Montgomery County Community College starting October 5.
โThis council vowed to rebuild a better police department in a sensible, cost-effective manner and this is the first step in doing exactly what we promised taxpayers we would do,โ Council President Craig Bowen said.

Bausch’s hiring will continue to expand the department, putting them at 58 sworn officers. The township has the funding for 61 in the current budget.
As LevittownNow.com exclusively reported last month, the council was originally set to hire two new officers at Thursday’s meeting. Acting Lt. Ralph Johnson said the other man set to be hired as a patrol officer turned down the job.
