Around 8:20 p.m., Bristol Township police, Bucks County Park Police, medics, and firefighters were called to the park that sits in both Bristol Borough and Bristol Township for a man reported to be in the lake, according to initial reports.

The man, who apparently was a patient who had fled nearby Lower Bucks Hospital, ended up in the chest-deep water and had an IV sticking from his arm, witnesses said.

Third District Fire Company Chief David Burns said crews worked with police to get to the man from the lake.

Police jumped onto a Croydon Fire Company boat to get access to the man, who was then brought to shore, Burns said.

The man’s condition was not immediately known, but he was last seen in the custody of park police.
