Cops: Residents Call Police, Stop Thief

Falls Township police haveย residents to thank once again, as one neighbor’s call helped apprehend one local man accused of theft.

Kyle Wood, 27, of Levittown, was arrested around 5 a.m. Monday and charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and loitering and prowling at night. Wood remains in prison on 10 percent of $500 bail.

According to officers, they were dispatched to the township’s North Park section early Monday morning for reports that a male subject was walking up and down driveways and pulling on car door handles.

When police approached the man, later identified as Wood, he informed them that he lived in the neighborhood.

“I’m homeless,” he said, according to an affidavit of probable cause. “I was just walking around.”

Officer Jeffrey Omlor noted that Wood had two full front pockets, each one full of a plastic bag overfillingย with change. Three wallets, containing identification, credit cards, and an Access card were found near Wood’s feet in the grass, as noted in court documents.

Officers, who contacted the victim’s were informed that the wallets had in fact been stolen from their vehicles.

Wood awaits a preliminary hearing set for September 16.
