The man who led St. Mary Medical Center through a massive renovation will be stepping down this fall.
St. Mary Medical Center CEO and President Gregory Wozniak announced this week that he will leave his position on October 2. He said in a statement that his resignation will allow him to move onto his next leadership opportunity in the healthcare industry.

โFor some time now, Iโve planned to step down from my position and dedicate time to my next leadership opportunity, teaching, consulting and volunteering. Now is the best possible time, as the medical center is well prepared for the future of healthcare in the United States. Patient-care quality, service and safety are among the best in the country, and the medical center is in excellent financial position. Iโd like to thank the people of St. Mary for their steadfast commitment to provide our patients the best possible care and service. Our ministry is mission driven, financially strong and well positioned to continue serving our community with high-quality healthcare for all,” Wozniak said.
The leader of St. Mary Medical Center has been with the organization for 16 years. He succeed Sister Clare Carty to become the fourth CEO in the medical center’s 42-year existence.
โGregโs tireless work and strategic vision have strongly positioned the medical center to meet the changes in healthcare today, as well as the needs of our community in the future,โ said Nadine Udall Fischer, chair of St. Mary Board of Directors. โGreg kept high-quality and safe patient care in our community by expanding emergency/trauma, orthopedics, cardiovascular, neurosciences, womenโs/obstetrics and oncology services. He did this while maintaining St. Maryโs financial performance, as well as high colleague, physician and patient satisfaction, and clinical quality scores.โ

Under Wozniak’s leadership, the medical center has has seen a massive renovation of its Middletown facility along with the addition of LIFE St. Mary, St. Mary Physicians Group, St. Mary Rehabilitation Hospital, the Quality Health Alliance and an affiliation with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, officials said.
โGreg has been a tremendous leader and dedicated to our mission to improve peopleโs lives,โ said Dr. John Newsom, president of St. Mary Medical Center’s medical staff.

Since Wozniak came into his job, the medical center, which is the largest employer in Bucks County, has won numerous awards and accolades.
The Board of Directors and Trinity Health leadership will work over the next several months to find a new CEO.
