
The Burlington County Bridge Commission has approved a hike for tolls on its bridges.
Starting September 15, tolls on the Burlington-Bristol Bridge and Tacony-Palmyra Bridge will increase, according to a report from NBC 10.

Tolls for automobiles and other class 1 vehicles will go from $2 to $4 for cash customers and to $3 for EZ Pass customers. The cost for larger vehicles will also go up.
According to the bridge commission, the โnew toll rate structure that will generate revenue to fund critical capital projects, thus ensuring that its historically significant bridges remain safe for the motoring public.โ In a recent press release, they laid out roughly $100 million in upgrades needed to its bridges.
The commission opened their meetings to public comments about the hike on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The last time tolls were raised was 2000. At that time, the fare went from $1 to $2.
