Detective Christopher Jones 5K Set For Saturday

The third annual Detective Christopher Jones 5K will be held next Saturday in Middletown.

Racers who have not already registered, which costs $30, will be able to do so the day of starting at 8 a.m. The race registration and kickoff will take place at Christopher Jones Memorial Park on Maple Avenue.

The race first started in 2013 and raises funds for Detective Christopher Jones Foundation scholarship fund.

Jones was a 10-year Middletown officer, promoted to detective after his death. The well-liked police official was struck by a vehicle and killed while conducting a traffic stop on Route 1 just before the I-95 onramp.
