The woman killed in a violent three-car accident on Route 13 in Falls Township Thursday night was identified Friday as a resident of Lower Makefield.

Kaitlin Abel, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the area of Tyburn Road. The force of the crash pushed Abel’s vehicle down an embankment.

Police officials told LevittownNow.com the man who caused the wreck and was trapped in his mangled vehicle for more than 40 minutes will likely be charged in the crash.
The man is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, police said. Blood test results have been sent out and charges will be filed if the results confirm the theory of investigators.

A third vehicle was involved in the crash and the driver was uninjured, police said.

First responders from the police department, local fire companies and ambulance squads were called to the scene around 11:40 p.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene and worked to free the man police suspect was drunk. He extricated and was transported to St. Mary Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Investigators from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Bucks County Coroner’s Office arrived at the scene around 1:30 a.m. to assist.
