In the end and after much confusion, police say two people were stabbed, one person was beat up and one person was clipped by a car. At first police reported three people were stabbed, but that information changed as the investigation progressed.

Police had made no arrests in the case as of early Saturday evening.

A 21-year-old Falls Township volunteer firefighter suffered a life-threatening stab wound to the chest, police and his family told LevittownNow.com. Lt. Terry Hughes said at 5:45 p.m. that the young man remains in critical condition at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown.

The other three people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Hughes said.

Detectives worked through Saturday to try to piece together the melee that erupted in the doorway to the bar around 2 a.m.

The other stab victim and the man who was beat up tried to get away in a car, which then “accidentally” clipped a person in the parking lot, Hughes said. He added that both were bleeding heavily as they tried to get away from the large brawl.

Hughes said they are still investigating the fight. An earlier fight in the bar might have triggered the incident that led to the violent attacks, he added.

Witnesses who were at the bar told LevittownNow.com Saturday morning they believed an earlier fight in the evening lead to the large fight.

โ€œWords were exchanged, a local firefighter in the group was trying to break up the argument before it escalated any further,โ€ said a patron of the bar. โ€œAnd the next thing you know, there was blood all over the place.โ€

According to witnesses at the scene of the fight, a male, who was part the group involved in the melee, had been harassing staff at the local watering hole earlier in the evening. He eventually poured a cup of beer over the head of an unidentified womam. The firefighter, according to the same witnesses, stepped in to protect the woman. That is when the onslaught began, two witnesses told LevittownNow.com.

One witness said the man was โ€œripping his shirt offโ€ and screaming he had been stabbed.

The parking spots outside the bar was littered with glass and trash around daybreak Saturday.

“We do know there were a lot of witnesses and we would like the public’s help,” Hughes said. “We know people saw what happened.”

The lieutenant said detectives are following up on all leads that come in.

The incident drew police from Middletown, the Pennsylvania State Police and Tullytown to assist Bristol Township officers.
