NEARBY: Man Killed by Falling Car

A man was killed Monday afternoon when a vehicle he was working on fell on top of him at a business in the 4000 block of Bristol Pike in Bensalem.

The incident, which happened near the Bristol Township border, left the unidentified man with fatal injuries, police said.

The man was reportedly  performing mechanical work underneath a vehicle that was raised on jack stands outside Negrete’s Auto when one of the stands collapsed and caused the car to fall on top of the man. It was unclear as of press time if the man was an employee of Negrete’s Auto.

First responders from Bensalem rushed to the scene, however, it was too late to save the man, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by Bensalem authorities and officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration have been called in to assist.
