How Did Woman End Up on the Turnpike in Bristol Township?

State police are investigating how a pedestrian ended up injured on Pennsylvania Turnpike property in Bristol Township Monday morning.

According to a first responder source, troopers from the state police and medics from the Bucks County Rescue Squad were called to the westbound turnpike, not far from the Delaware Valley interchange, around 9:10 a.m. for a possible struck pedestrian. The woman was found to have a non-life-threatening injury and transported to a nearby hospital.

The source said the woman was was found near the shoulder of the highway.

The incident did not cause any major delays for the morning commute.
