The woman was struck by a car shortly after and crawled off the busy highway and fell asleep near the shoulder, police said.

The injured woman was discovered around 9 a.m. on the westbound side and transported by medics to a nearby hospital to be treated for a broken leg.

Police did not say whether they have spoken to the woman’s friends or the driver of the striking vehicle.
