2 Hurt in Head-On Crash on Bridge

A crash on the Burlington-Bristol Bridge brought traffic to a halt Wednesday afternoon.

The two-vehicle crash happened on the Bristol Township side of the bridge that crosses the Delaware River. First reports of the head-on wreck came in around 3:10 p.m.

Croydon Fire Company Chief Tom Tryon said one person was taken to a hospital in New Jersey and another person was transported to a hospital on this side of the river.

Firefighters assisted medics with the two patients and helped contain vehicle fluids that spilled, Tryon said.

The accident was cleared, and the bridge reopened to traffic around 4:30 p.m.
