Facials, manicures, hair cuts, deep conditioning and styling will be priced between $5 and $6, with all money toward a colon cancer charity. Cosmetology instructor Brandee Garnett said the event has supported other causes in past years but picked a colon cancer charity was chosen after a teacher aide’s mother passed away of the disease last year.
The students raised $6,000 last year and have been hosting Hope Cut events for the past few years.
The students providing cosmetology services to the community are under the direction of staff and Garnett said have completed enough hours to be certified.
