According to Middletown police, Douthart is accused of receiving payment for work he performed as an employee of Fire Safety Plus. Authorities say that Douthart failed to turn the profits of jobs he completed as their employee over to the company.
Douthart bilked over $3,540 from his employer, court papers state.
The 51-year-old is also is accused of claiming to have previously completed work at the William Penn Fire Company on Bristol-Oxford Valley Road. Police say it turned out the work was not carried out properly. Some of the cartridges Douthart said he replaced turned out to actually be leftover from the 1970s or 1980s, according to court papers.
