As newspaper circulation continues to drop along with newsroom staffing, local online publishers have grown across the nation and have begun to fill the void left in the wake of cutbacks. National roll-outs of online local news networks have largely failed, but many smaller operations have thrived.
LevittownNow.com Publishers and Editors Jeff Bohen and Tom Sofield believe a local independent voice is important to the region. The business partners started the local news outlet to also provide an affordable place for local businesses to advertise their products and services. The website provides coverage on a variety of different topics vital to Lower Bucks County residents and provides a free events calendar for readers. A classifieds and expanded obituary section are forthcoming.
It is not uncommon to see relevant content and advice sharing between LION members. The sharing is planned to helped strengthen LevittownNow.com.
